For over two decades, CAWI has been a home for community-led change in Ottawa. From our early days co-creating accessible civic engagement workshops with newcomer women, to influencing gender-responsive budgeting at City Hall, to supporting grassroots leaders navigating neighbourhood issues – from transit to safety to flourishing public spaces – CAWI has always been rooted in one belief:

How your gift makes a difference
We use donations to deliver free training to residents in Ottawa. These workshops empower people from all walks of life to vote, engage decision makers and make their voices heard.
We also use donations to fund our advocacy efforts. We campaign on issues such as affordable housing, social assistance and gender equality. Our past wins include getting $15 million dedicated to affordable housing in annual city budgets from 2018 to 2021.
We publish our annual audited financial statements every year in our annual report.
