We are anticipating a new board of directors, and you could be part of it.
What Does A Board Member Do?
- Help set CAWI’s advocacy direction
- Attend monthly board meetings
- Actively participate in sub-committees
- Participate in strategic planning and implementation.
- Stay informed about municipal politics and organizational matters
- Be a representative and advocate for the organization in the community and beyond.
What are we looking for in a board member?
- Passion for gendered equality, municipal issues, and social justice.
- Self-identify as a cis or trans woman, non-binary or two-spirit person.
- Belong to communities or groups that are underrepresented in municipal processes.
What skills/experiences are we looking for?
- Finance and/or fundraising
- Equity-based consulting
- Government and public relations
- Grant writing
- Board governance
- Urban planning
- Legal regulatory matters
- Advocacy
- HR
Is This Position Paid?
No, this position is not paid. CAWI is a registered non-profit organization, being on the board of directors is a volunteer position.
If you are passionate about advocating for a city that cares for all, this is your opportunity.
