Thank you for your interest in being a volunteer with City for All Women Initiative (CAWI). Your contribution makes it possible for CAWI to live out our vision of promoting a more inclusive city.
Volunteers are active contributors to CAWI:
1) Fulfilling specific tasks to carry out the work of CAWI; 2) As members on committees; 3) As members of the Steering Committee.
Active volunteers can also benefit from training CAWI offers which can contribute to your personal/professional development goals. We host regular orientation sessions for new volunteers to explore their options for involvement.
Drawing on each other’s strengths: CAWI builds on a peer mentoring model, which recognizes that we are all teachers and learners at the same time. Together we are stronger and we help each other to build our capacity to meet individual and collective needs. Addressing barriers: All meetings will be conducted in English, but we will do all possible to ensure that Francophones and women speaking other languages are able to participate. Expenses incurred while volunteering will be reimbursed (i.e. family/childcare at $10/hour; bus tickets, mileage and parking). We ask that volunteers do what you can to keep these costs down, so as to be sure to have enough funds for all of us who need them.
