A few weeks ago, the City of Ottawa won a national Best Diversity Employers Award, in part because of the Equity and Inclusion Lens that the City developed in partnership with the City for All Women Initiative (CAWI). To thank CAWI for its contribution, Mayor Jim Watson will present CAWI with the City Builder Award on Wednesday, March 28th, 10 AM at the opening of City Council in the Council Chambers, 110 Laurier West. See the Equity and Inclusion Lens and learn more.
The creation and implementation of the Equity and Inclusion Lens in the City of Ottawa has been possible with the contributions of many community leaders and city staff, along with funding from Status of Women Canada and City of Ottawa. This award is for you too. Come to City Hall to be part of this celebration, as together we stand with city leaders to say we believe a city where we all belong is possible.
Arrive before 10 AM as the ceremony will be brief. Or watch on TV, Rogers 22. If you choose you can wear one of CAWI's peach scarves, bring your peach scarf or we will provide you with one to wear. CAWI will reimburse the cost of childcare and provide bus tickets for women or men who require it to attend.
After the ceremony, we invite you to join us in the Councillor's Lounge, 2nd floor, to continue celebrating.
We hope you can join us in this moment of celebration.
