The Digital Marketing Specialist will play a supportive role in expanding CAWI’s digital presence and strengthening engagement with diverse audiences, as well as support administrative tasks. This position directly contributes to increased visibility, supporting the mission-driven work of the City for All Women Initiative (CAWI).

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Content Development and Digital Storytelling
    • Create accessible, engaging digital content (e.g., social media posts, graphics, short videos, newsletters) that highlights CAWI’s current projects and community impact.
    • Research and fact-check information from credible sources to ensure content is accurate and reflective of community realities. 
    • Draft clear and compelling messaging that aligns with CAWI’s values of equity, inclusion, and community-centred practice.
  2. Social Media Management
    • Manage day-to-day posting on CAWI’s social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook).
    • Track engagement, respond to inquiries, and identify opportunities to strengthen community connections.
  3. Digital Campaign Support
    • Assist in planning and executing targeted digital outreach campaigns to grow CAWI’s audience and attract new members.
    • Coordinate scheduling, monitor reach, and propose improvements based on performance analytics.
    • Support the integration of communication channels, including social media, newsletter platform, and website to ensure consistent messaging.
  4. Website and Analytics Support
    • Help update website content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, accessibility, and user-friendly navigation.
    • Collect and interpret basic web and social media analytics to help inform content strategy and audience development.
  5. Research and Market Scanning
    • Conduct light research on sector trends, comparable organizations, and emerging digital tools to provide recommendations for strengthening CAWI’s online presence.
    • Support the development of a communications strategy and annual calendar
  6. Administrative Support
    • Work closely with CAWI team members to align digital communications with program priorities.
    • Attend team meetings, contribute ideas, and support administrative tasks.
    • Support event/program outreach, coordination, and logistics as needed.

Supervision and Learning Environment:
The youth will receive regular supervision, mentorship, and skill-building support from CAWI staff. They will gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, communications for social impact organizations, and the operations of a feminist, equity-driven non-profit.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible, participants must:

  • Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the funded position.
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
