Women’s Eyes on Recreation in Our City Women’s Action Forum, January 7
Concerned about your family and community being able to access affordable recreation services in the city? Do you have ideas about how they can be more culturally appropriate for you and your community?
The City of Ottawa is developing a master plan to inform how they will provide recreation services in the future. The challenge is to make best use of resources so as to ensure recreation services are accessible to the diversity of residents in our city.
Women interested in this issue are invited to attend our Women’s Action Forum, Wednesday, January 7, 5:30-7:30, Centretown Community Health Centre, 420 Cooper Street (half block west of Bank).
- The first hour will be a discussion on the 2009 City Budget decisions – celebrate that our voices were heard and name remaining concerns.
- The second hour will be a presentation by the city recreation department on the development of the Recreation Master Plan and opportunities for community input.
Come and learn how you can engage your friends and community in ensuring our recreation services are the best they can be for all of us.
Pizza will be provided. Bus ticket, transportation and childcare costs can be reimbursed. French translation available. Please let us know you are coming by sending a note to Yumi Kotani – ykotani@cawi-ivtf.org.
